This "What Requires My Focus" tarot spread is designed for when you’re feeling scattered and unsure where to place your energy. Perhaps you’ve got a lot on your plate, or your mind feels busy with competing ideas and priorities.
It’s especially useful when you’re seeking clarity on direction, especially a next step, a business project or a creative idea. Or if you simply need help tuning back into what truly matters right now.
Rather than pushing for quick answers, this spread gently helps you understand why your focus feels fractured, and how to bring it back into alignment.
How to Read the "What Requires My Focus" Tarot Spread:

Card 1 represents the underlying reason you’ve been feeling unfocused or low in energy. It gives you insight into the emotional or energetic state you’re currently moving through.
Cards 2 and 3 are placed over Card 1, showing them as influences that affect this core feeling.
Card 2, placed above, highlights what’s pulling your attention away. This may point to external influences such as other people’s ideas, expectations, or well-meaning advice that you’re placing above your own inner knowing. Look closely at the relationship between Cards 1 and 2, especially any visual or symbolic overlaps, to see how these energies interact.
Card 3 speaks to deeper, more subconscious beliefs. It can also represent your intuition and what needs require your attention. Sometimes intuition brings uncomfortable truths, which can explain why it’s easier to ignore. This card invites gentle honesty rather than judgement.
If Card 2 or Card 3 appears reversed, this can highlight an obstacle or resistance. While their placement already points to avoidance, a reversal may emphasise where you feel particularly stuck.
Cards 4 and 5 overlap, reflecting how closely linked attention and action are.
Card 4 shows where your focus is most needed right now.
Card 5 offers a practical action step to support that focus.
Pay attention to how these two cards speak to each other. How does the action in Card 5 help you move towards the focus revealed in Card 4? If either card appears reversed, it may suggest that taking action feels challenging and that self-trust needs strengthening before moving forward.
Bringing your Spread Together
As you read the spread, notice which cards spark a sense of curiosity or a quiet excitement. These emotional cues are just as important as traditional meanings and show you where your energy naturally wants to flow.
And most importantly, remember you don't have to do everything all at once! Be gentle with yourself as you regain focus to what truly matters.
